"Out of sight, out of mind" – or my first storage furniture
We all know the problem: too much stuff lying around. Whether tall or flat, wide or narrow, closed or open, mounted on the wall, hanging from the ceiling, or sitting on the floor. The only requirement is that I create a beautiful home for my belongings.
Guidelines:
Volume: approximately 264 liters, e.g., W 400 x H 2100 x D 400 mm or W 800 x H 800 x D 400 mm
At least one drawer and at least one door or flap
Material: Modern panel materials; solid wood only for frames, legs, or posts
Hardware: At least one pair of hinges/flap fittings and one drawer slide
Matte, velvety black meets shiny, hard aluminum.
N33 is my interpretation of a storage furniture piece—my very first storage furniture.
At the heart of the design lies the concept of interior and exterior.
A dark, solid core is framed by a semi-transparent shell.
The centerpiece of my furniture is the body, consisting of five drawers and four side compartments, made from 19 mm chipboard coated with black Fenix laminate.
An aluminum expanded metal mesh basket surrounds the inner structure, introducing a new dimension.
The material contrast not only creates an intriguing interplay of light and dark, matte and shiny, but also symbolically reflects the core and shell concept through its texture, color, and transparency.

About myself
Hello, I’m Nina,
I’m pleased to welcome you here! Since 2021, I have been studying Interior Architecture B.A. at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, Germany. I am currently in my 7th semester. My studies have guided me through a variety of different areas – from Building in Existing Structures to Designing New Buildings and Small Architectures, Interior Construction, Spatial Function Theory, Furniture Design, and Social Design. Each of these modules has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse facets of interior architecture.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to explore the field of sustainable construction in depth. This experience profoundly influenced my mindset and work, sparking my interest in circular building methods and resource-conscious design.
On this website, I present a selection of my projects – from the early stages of my studies to current works that seamlessly combine aesthetics, atmosphere, and sustainability.
I warmly invite you to explore my projects in greater detail.
